My Etsy Shop

Okay I know you guys have just been stirring in your seats to check out my etsy shop. I really only have Christmas stuff and two dresses right now but you can special request clothes if you like (I think) by emailing me. I made this dress for Lilly for Christmas by request (I know these aren't the best pictures of her I could have gotten but you get the idea). If you mention this blog I'll give you a discount of course. My url is http://www.etsy.com/shop/uptomykneesincrafts

Its Just Too Cute

On our way to my dad's house this Thanksgiving we all had to stop and stretch our legs so we stopped near Ocacobee and there was a small playground witha slide that had rollers. As you can see Justin loved it.

Marriage to Peter

This year our anniversary fell on Thanksgiving. Although this wasn't a problem we didn't really feel like the day was ours so to speak since we were with family. We went and saw Fiddle on the Roof in Oct. to celebrate so it wasn't lost. But I wanted to tell you all how much being married these 5 years have meant to me. Peter has been a great husband so tolarent of my annoying habits and understanding. I don't remember life ever being this good. I am thankful especially for him and his love. I love him even more as I watch him with our son. I don't know how it is possible to love someone a little bit more each day but it can happen (Even though some days I forget). He has made my life very complete and taught me so much in the process. I am blessed to have these years thus far with my husband and look forward to the years to come.

Walking Justin

Happy Happy Feet!! Justin is so glad he is walking. When he relized he was walking on his own he looked at me and started to laugh and clapped his hands. He already knows pride. Its great.

Cayo Costa Island

We went to Cayo Costa Island for a family trip and it was a great getaway. It was a primitive camping island that we had to take a ferry out to. It was a lot of fun but we didn't have enough time there. We both got our fishing licenses and caught fish right off the shore of course we didn't know what they were and we caught and released. Next time we are planning on bringing a chart that has pictures and regulations on it and cook some of the fish. Justin was really good the only problm was he took his naps in our arms preferably listening to the waves. There was also great shelling and I got some cool shells. There was a lot of beach space and we barely saw anyone else there. It was a perfect vacation!!

Getting together an online business

So as some as you know I've been thinking about going on to etsy and starting a little business. Well I opened a shop but I need to post some things to sell. I have a couple of dresses already but I had trouble getting the pics not to be blurry so I need Pete to help a little. I decided to do custom dresses and jumpers where the customers can pick the fabric and smocking design as well as some premade things so wish me luck. I have to thank Molly for already supporting me by buying some crochet hats that I've been making and to Cami for her support and Lilly for future modeling as well as Erin and probably Marissa. Here are some pics of Justin in the romper I started yesterday night and finished today. He looked so cute in it and I most amit I was kind of proud of how it turned out. I don't know how well you can see the design but it has a little smocked airplane on the front. Thanks to my sweetie for being my little boy model until he grows out of the stage where these things are acceptable. I'll post my shops website as soon as I get something on there so you can check it out. Thanks again. Love you guys.

Like Father Like Son

After his cookie for dessert this evening Justin had a goatie that looked just like his father's. Boy do they look alike.

Justin 11 months

I don't think Justin is smiling in any of these monthly pictures. Lets just say it is extremely hard to get him to smile most of the time. So as you can tell from his Halloween pics he is learning to walk. I wonder if he'll be walking on his own by his birthday but I don't think so. He is starting to clap after music is done playing and when he is excited or did something fun. Which is very cute. He makes this awful face in which he pushes his lips like he is kissing but he brings his eyebrows down. He does this whenever something does anything he doesn't like.

Dreaded Sea Dragon Pirates

Justin took his first two steps on his own at trunk or treat. He loved to carry his bucket around so much that if anyone touched it he would throw a kicking tantrum. His first too by the way. Well yeah he complained about us taking things from him but never the throw himself back kick his feet and arms type. I was horrified that he threw his first in public. At first I just tried to get the bucket back to him as fast as possible then I realized I was teaching him the wrong thing so I took the bucket away for a couple of seconds to let him get over himself. But he most have really loved that bucket. I did Pete and my makeup. A lot of people said they liked it and unfortunately I did not make our costumes this year but next year I have full plans to. So I am coming up with ideas now and I'll hopefully start next summer. We had a great time at Emily's Halloween party. Where we got to hit a pinata and let me just tell you I losen it up for Pete to actually break it open. I think she had lots of other games to but we left at 10 because that was the lastest we could get Justin to stay up to. But it was a really good time anyway.

10 Months 1 week

Okay so I am putting this up way late but Justin figured out how to turn off the computer and so I can only come on here when he is sleeping and of course that is really the only time I have to do anything so yeah this hasn't been top priority. But nothing really grand had happened that month. He still pulled himself up on everything, says ma mam mama for just about everything and is as active as ever. I don't know how I am going to keep up with him when he decides to walk. I think Pete may come home and I will be laying on the floor half dead and Justin will be running circles around my body or maybe even jumping up and down on me we shall see. Hey maybe it will help me lose my last 5 pounds that I am having trouble with to reach my goal for this year. I can always hope.

Splish Splash

Justin loves playing at this spinkler park down here. The only down fall is his knees get roughed up. Here he is playing with Lilly, which is his best friend right now. Whenever they see each other they start to smile and Justin grabs her and gives her kisses and then procedes to tackle her to the floor. it is very hard to teach a 9 month year old to be gentle we are working on it. I think Lilly will teach it before we can because she won't play with him if he doesn't. But then again boys will be boys. Although I find it
funny that he doesn't really tackle Samuel who is about the same age as Lilly. Maybe he knows he can't win that battle or maybe he is more secure with Lilly. Of course this is all speculation because its not like Justin can tell me he actually likes Lilly more or anything. I am amazed everyday by him though. All the things he discovers or figures out. Like stopping the water coming out of the sprinkler or when they stop and change where they come out of he looks around and crawls to the new spot. Or my personal favorite is his laugh. I have yet to find a better thing. I think it

actually carries the spirit with it. I can see where the quote about faries being born from a baby's laugh came from. There is something truelly magical in his laugh. It brings a warm feeling to your heart and you can not help but be happy almost to the point of tears. I love it I think it is the best thing I have ever experienced thus far.

Diaster and mishaps of a 9 month old

I can't believe it, 9 months has flown by. Justin now has 4 teeth. Two on the bottom and two on the top but not the front two. Although the other front one is just breaking the gum. The only good thing is he seems to be getting them all at once. He weighs about 18 lbs. He is starting to mimic sounds and chatters as he turns pages in books. It is the cutest thing to watch. He is fearless and it could lead to his demise if we turn around for a second. I have found him on top of tables with scissors as he balanced on the edge. He climbs the stairs like they are a straightway. He climbs up on the couch and proceeds to the next chair over the arm rest. And if you hear quiet (when he isn't sleeping) you can be sure to find your toilet paper roll all over the floor and an electrical wire in his mouth. It doesn't seem like how many things we change to make it safer for him he finds an other outlet of danger. He is like a stuntman who makes it up as he goes along and unless he actually gets hurt he thinks its perfectly safe to continue. Example: I just looked over and Justin was in the diaper rash ointment squishing his hands in it and as we took it away he figure the mouth was a good place for his hand. He is quick too and has these go go gadget arms. While picking out dress shirts for Pete he was able to grab multiple shirts from here and there while I was holding him and his hands. I'm still in awe. I know I spent a whole day going man if I blogged every thing Justin did that was dangerous just today social services would be knocking on my door for child neglect and that is with me watching him. I can't imagine the consequences of being occupied for a few minutes. The only reason I can write this blog is because Peter is watching him and he still found the diaper rash ointment. Now that was smart thinking I looked at Pete and he put Justin in a big diaper box maybe that will slow him down.

Where did these 8 months go

Man the time flys when you have a little one to watch day and night. And boy is our little one growing. After a week of crawling he can climb stairs altough he is not as graceful coming down. He is fast too. My favorite came is running back and forth in the livingroom and kitchen to get away from him. He hates it and hasn't relized it could be a fun game to chase mommy but then again it may incourage him to run away from me. Huh maybe I should stop?! He is a very cute boy though and cuddles with hugs and slimy kisses. We love having him around. He got his first two teeth on the bittom row at the same time. Which had its advantages -only one or two nights of complaining but it also probably hurt more. He has a lot of trouble getting to sleep at naptime and night time which is very frusterating at times. He is a rough and tumble boy and has all the bruises to prove it. Hopefully the doctor won't suspect abuse at his next appointment.

July 4

Justin had no problems with the fireworks on the forth on July. Actually he spent most of his time looking at the people and not at the lights in the sky. We were in Chicago and the weather was perfect. 70-80 degrees during the day. Although we did have to buy a sweater for Justin for at night, we were not expecting that in would be quite so cool. All in all it was a good day. We visited with family and went to a bridge to watch the show.

Justin-7 months

Our little one is now a crawler and gets into all he can. He has a fearless attitude and will climb over or though anything in his way. His first day crawling he headed to the dog and grab her and she jumped up and ran away. He then felt the dog was to far for a secomd atempted so he may his way to the tv and pulled himself up on the amoire and grabbed the remotes, which I took away. So he looked around and found the videos on the shelves and had a hay day pulling them off. Did I mention this was his first day crawling? He now crawls to where he wishes and when he is done playing so to speak he comes to me and pulls himself up and complains if I do not pick him up quick enough. He doesn't have any teeth yet. He loves to chew wires which I make sure are not
plugged in. I tried the whole take them away but that only encouraged it more so now I let him and he gets bored easier. He loves to tear paper and leave it all over the house. We are having severe problems with sleeping during naps and at night. He id very stubborn. On his 7 month b-day he stood on his own for a few seconds (Pete saw him). Hopefully this does not mean he will be walking early. We are barely keeping up with him now. Toby and Jade are not at all happy about him crawling and run when ever he is near. They have found some hiding places from him
but are not happy when he corners them. He is very attached to his mommy and askes for her all the time. Which is sometimes flusterating. But we are happy to see our little boy growing up even if it leaves the house in shambles.

It Most be in the Water

I was going to post this anyway but after reading Laura's blog I know how she is feeling. I finished Justin's bedroom (except buying sheets for the twin bed and a new shower curtain). The pictures are on the walls and the bathroom is painted and the fixures are replaced. I have been cleaning and organizing like it is some new great drug. I am making a magazine rack to keep little hands and mouth off the pages (it hangs on the wall). We are putting the gate upstairs up and the cabinet locks up this weekend since he started to crawl. I am planning on painting the riser of the stairs hopefully this week and start organizing my craft room, which needs shelves probably. I want to paint the kitchen but Pete doesn't like the colors I picked thus far. Too girly I guess but hey it's not like he cooks in it everyday. I don't know what I would have done if we had a girl there is no way he would have agreed with any of the colors I picked. Anyway I decided to only have one craft project out at a time and I have been getting a lot more of them done. I plan on finishing the window by the door in the next month (yeah that has only been on a 5 year vacation). I have been working out and reading don't ask me where I find the time with Justin but somehow I have been squeezing the most out of the naps he has each day.

Happy Father's Day Peter

You are patient, caring and fun
These are just the start of the qualities you show our son.
As he struggles to sleep almost every night
You almost never are mad to be the one to hold him tight.
And although I know you wallet always seems empty
I know that your heart is always full and has plenty.
I guess what I am trying to say
is we love you and Happy Father's Day

6 months have come and gone

oh my I can't believe how time is flying. So Justin is now 27 inches long and weighs a little over 16 pounds. He has no teeth yet. He can almost crawl. He gets up on all four and tries to go forward but finds himself farther and farther from his attended desitation. He hated rice and oatmeal cereal but loves vegetables. He has had green beans, sweet potato, carrots and squash. I just started making his food and he likes that better then the store baby food. He didn't seem to like the fruit as much as the vegetables except applesauce. Banana didn't go over as well. He is still trying to sit up the hard way (by pulling himself up from the waist in the laying down position) . This kid is going to have a six pack by one. He growls and blows raspberries. He likes attention and tells me when he doesn't like something with a loud eenh. He has perfected grabbing anything within reach and of course it goes straight to his mouth. He is very active when he is awake and has a hard time calming down to go to sleep. He loves music and looks for the source of anyones ring tone.

Bouncing Baby Boy

Has anyone wondered where this beautiful phase came from well now you do. Our son started the jumping in the seat at 8:30pm. At the time all I could think was great he was suppose to fall asleep an hour ago and here he is acting like a mad man. A few days later I was talking to Cami about it and she offer for us to borrow her bouncy swing. So many thanks to Cami it was love at first bounce. As a side note when he pauses in the seat is when the tv caught his attention.

I learned to smock

My mom brought her pleating machine to my house and I have been smocking. I made this jumper for Justin but I think it is too big so I'm just going to have to make a smaller one, oh darn. Then of course I had to make a little girl's dress. Isn't it darling. I've had so much fun doing it and it is so much easier then you would imagine. I love easy stuff that looks great when it is done. It is one of those things that make me feel warm and fuzzy.
